Poster 2 New Illustrations

My first sketch based off this poster (left).

A second sketch, which a chose to work with as the style I'm going with works best with natural shapes rather than cityscapes.

Tones, changed early on but still useful for blocking out colour areas.

Colour set 1; I was just trying to come up with colour combinations at this stage. I was trying for a triadic colour scheme, but it really wasn't working.

Colour set 2; based off this poster (bottom right). This is definitely working better, but the balance of warm and cool is all weird.

Colour set 3; this is the most natural set, also based off a poster (top right). It also gives a serene feeling to the nature which can be contrasted easily with darker, muddier tones for the foreground.

I added some textures to give it an old poster-y look, and played with the saturation and contrast in Photoshop. I'll keep playing with these filters, but for now I'm happy with the colours.
